It’s almost the final countdown! Starting December first, our Advent Calendar Live Event will begin. Who is ready? But this is not all! We’ve also made many quality improvements, and it shows.
We’ve been busy working on this new WordPlay update. We have a new onboarding for our new users creating a better experience. We also got rid of annoying bugs and made functionality improvements.
Improve vocabulary and reading comprehension through fun challenges. Boost memory and speech with engaging games and quizzes.
With the reading and comprehension app Wordplay, kids will strengthen their vocabulary in a fun and playful way! For the kids, Wordplay it’s all games and fun.
Its objective is to improve children’s reading comprehension-, listening skills and working memory. Just as if by magic, they’ll strengthen their vocabulary, memory, auditory understanding, and speech.
They’ll learn through play the Mussila way!
The app has four learning paths.
1)The Learn path:
In the Learn path, the kids will learn everyday words and advanced vocabulary. By following instructions and playing with scenes, children will work on their listening skills and improve their working memory.
2) The Play path:
In the Play path, the players can use what they’ve learned with games and quizzes. They will just enjoy putting all this into practice. Children will find different games in this section: quizzes, spelling, word soup, listen & guess, listen & answer, sorting words, and forming sentences.
3) The practice path:
In the practice path, the students will find a library with stories that they can read either alone or in the company, which will allow them to improve reading skills and create a bond if they read with a companion.
They will also find a dictionary, where they can review the vocabulary they’ve learned.
4) The create path:
The create path enables kids to unleash their imagination. Here, they can create original and fun stories with the Story Creator. They'll create a new story every time and be surprised by the result!
Stories in the library:
- "There Was a Blue Planet" by Andri Snaer Magnason. Winner of the 2014 UKLA Book Award: an eco-fable with heart and humour Brimir and Hulda are best friends, living on a beautiful blue planet where there are no grown-ups, life is wild and free, and each day is more exciting than the last.
- "Meowsy" by AEgir Orn Ingvason, Hilmar Thór Birgisson and Gudmundur Audunsson. Meowsy, is a cat that has lost its clothes and cannot find its way home. Follow its adventures in a magical.
