This app supports you in the mapping work for the "Floristic Mapping NRW". It is a supplement to the Internet portal www.florenkartierung-nrw.de. With the help of the app, you can record plant finds in the field and report them directly into the database of this project. The GPS function of your mobile device and the stored reference lists replace the analogue maps and take the paperwork from you.
In principle, anyone who is interested in the local flora can participate; however, in-depth knowledge of plant determination is required. This app does not replace a key and contains no illustrations.
In order to be able to use the app, a registration via the Internet portal www.florenkartierung-nrw.de is required.
The Floristic Mapping NRW 2013 -17:
Among the most important goals is the publication of a current distribution atlas of endangered fern and flowering plants in North Rhine-Westphalia. Furthermore, the results will be used to develop a database for the next Red List (planned for 2020). The data collected should also serve as a basis for nature conservation work in North Rhine-Westphalia and be available to the authorities for nature conservation, including the biological stations.
