About Jowell
Joel A. Muñoz Martinez was born in the city of Springfield, state of Massachusetts on March 3, 1982. At the age of 7 he became interested in Rap music, listening and doing imitations of his idol and that of many: Vico-C In 1994, when he was in the 7th grade, he had his first opportunity to show his talent, singing in a competition won the first place and since then he discovered his talent for composing songs, something that continues to this day.
In 1996 he had his first opportunity to record for a record production of the genre Rap & Reggae being "Los Fugitivos" the first of his multiple attempts to shine in this music. From there he met the producer Alex Quiles, known as Alex Garlgola who invited him to make several recordings for different albums such as "Most Wanted Live, Dj Raymond and Gargolas vol.1" among others, having success in them. Also during that time he recorded with Dj's recognized as Dj Dicky, Dj Black and Dj Flavor among others.
It was not until 1997 that he was able to participate in his first production of several artists called THE WHITE produced by the sister of Dj Nelson, Lissette Martínez, under the rhythm of Dj Stefano and duet with whom was one of his first duets: Baby Killer. In 1998 he was given the opportunity to record alone and participate in the BABY69 production thanks to the efforts of Jorge Guadalupe (Goguito Diririri). On this occasion Jowell was part of the radio version that was promoted on the radio and also participated in the IN YOUR FACE program and in the Cristmas Rap Attack concert in front of 5,000 people at the Pavillion Mets Pavillion in Guaynabo, promoting this production.
He also participated in the Slowmotion and Operación Sandunga productions in 2001. In the latter, he also participated who is now his partner: Randy who is known for his melodies to sing and noticing this Jowell begins to compose choirs for him (Randy) to participate of the themes in this (Jowell) in chorus role.
