The Bible of CEI (Italian Episcopal Conference) is the official version of the Italian Catholic Church. Prior to the initial publication of the CEI edition in 1971, the most common Italian translation of the bible was that of Archbishop Antonio Martini, published from 1769-1781. The 1607 Italian translation by Giovanni Diodati is the standard reference used in the Italian Protestantism; a revised edition of this translation in modern Italian, New Diodati, was published in 1991.

The Bible (from the ancient Greek βιβλίον, plur. Βιβλία, literary books) is the sacred book of the Jewish and Christian religions.
With the CEI Bible (official title The Holy Bible) we mean the official Italian Catholic translation of the Bible by the CEI (Italian Episcopal Conference).
The official translation of the CEI (Italian Episcopal Conference) was begun in 1965 with the aim of providing a translation adapted to the Italian Catholic liturgy, according to the indications of the Second Vatican Council.
Christianity is a monotheistic religion with a universalistic character, originated from Judaism in the first century, founded on the coming of Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) understood as a son of God, incarnate, dead and risen for the salvation of all men, or the Messiah promised, the Christ.
