Bug fixes and improvements
Bridge heights will now respond to your unit preferences (in feet and meters) along with other bug fixes and improvements
This update brings an updated privacy policy, which provides some more information on how we process your personal data when you use our apps.
As well as some other bug fixes and improvements.
With this release we’re making a number of bug fixes and introducing a major new feature, satellite overlay! Plan with full or land only satellite coverage. Also fixed:
- Some users reported issues with the location icon when enabling/disabling HRB, this is now fixed
- A number of crashes and poor experiences
New and improved way to share your tracks with friends and family. You can now add your photos and also points of interest from your past trips. Also some small bugfixes:
- Fixed an app crash when entering plan mode from some views.
- Fixed an issue where the name of the app wouldn’t be translated correctly on certain devices.
- Fixed an issue where back buttons wouldn’t be displayed correctly on devices with a notch.
- Fixed a very troublesome issue that would cause the app to stop loading new charts in some cases after being in the background for a number of hours. This would cause the basemap to appear (lots of jagged lines instead of proper cartography). Thanks to those who reported the issue and helped us troubleshoot.
- A number of small improvements to the bottom sheet behaviours.
- Fixed an issue where hidden routes/places/tracks would reappear on the chart.
- A number of other small bug fixes.
Introducing offline synchronization:
Users can now synchronize their waypoints and routes seamlessly between their onboard display and the app by connecting their mobile to the MFD’s Wi-Fi. Available with NOS 20.2 for devices with a Wi-Fi hotspot enabled.
Introducing software updates:
Download NOS software updates from the comfort and convenience of your home wifi, and bring them to the boat to install through your mobile device.

Further chart stability improvements.
- Charts in Denmark, Faroe Islands and Greenland can now be unlocked by subscribers, for free.
- Fixed an issue with the chart settings warning while in dark mode.
- Improved display of location for free users, making it more clear that precise GPS position is not available.
- Returned the navigation line estimate semi circle - distance can be configured from the settings.
- Removed the ‘wind’ section from the weather forecast screen, it wasn’t working as expected.
Introducing - Shaded Relief! Accessible via the map layers panel for premium users, Shaded Relief will let you see the river, lakebed, or seabed beneath you like never before. We’ve also added a few extra elements to our wind overlay including gust, precipitation, air temperature, press, and water temperature (US only).
- Fixed an issue with land point objects not being visible on the charts, thanks to those who raised it with us
- Height limit removed from route settings
- Reintroduced the ability to get weather for a location from inspection
- Fixed a bug where users who started a trial would not get access to offline download functionality
- Fixed an issue where charts would not be available after opening the app following a period of inactivity
- Improvement to offline charts downloads
- Slow app start time fixes - we’ve removed some unnecessary processes that would cause a few seconds delay with a fresh application open
- Blank chart screen issues - we’ve fixed a few issues where the initial chart setup would fail or take a long time
- Fixed an issue with chart details - because of missing arrows it wasn’t clear these were categories you could enter into and get more granular controls, we’ve restored the arrows to make this more clear
- Restored route and track content to the bottom sheet when selected
- Fixed an issue that made inspection unavailable during offline usage
- Performance improvements for the wind overlay
- Inspection will return more information under the cursor from far-away zooms
- Cruising guide items and categories will now appear on the chart correctly
- Restored the depth setting to the settings for calculating autoroutes

Added some additional functionality to the places, routes and tracks screens. Now you can restore data that’s been deleted, create a route out of waypoints and export all or a subset of your places routes and tracks direct to your device

This release we have improved places of interest by adding Anchorages and increased the number of marinas courtesy of Navily.
This release we are introducing a new language option to the app: Italian. We've also improved a few elements such as the home habor experience.
Fixed an issue where rocks with known depths were not being displayed correctly on the charts. This week we're adding the moon phase to our weather forecast, this new data will help you plan your fishing trips. We’re also squashing bugs and making fixes around the app - lastly, we’ve added fuel as a category in search.
