Since 1896 - meanwhile in the 4th generation - we are dealing with the sale of shoes and leather goods. Hermann Hasler founded in 1898 in Reichenbach / Silesia additionally a workshop for shoes and boots.
In 1928 his son Erich Hasler took over the business and extended it to the retail of footwear. After the expulsion from Silesia, connected with the loss of the business, in 1956 the new beginning with a shoe store took place in Krefeld-Uerdingen. After the death of Erich Hasler, the business was continued by his sons Helmut and Reinhard Hasler.
At that time another branch of the family tradition began with the master shoemaker Wilhelm Prinz from Bouderath in the Eifel. He married in 1939 the daughter Maria of the shoe merchant Heinrich Wintzen from Rheydt in the Rhineland. In Giesenkirchen he opened the same year a shoe store with attached shoemaker workshop. The business was quickly known beyond the borders of Giesenkirchen as a salamander specialty store.
After the war and construction work, the business experienced the boom of the 50s and 60s, because daughter Irmgard joined the family business. In 1964, shoe salesman and shoe technician Helmut Hasler took over the business. He had met Irmgard at an event of the shoe factory Salamander.
The Schuhhaus Prinz became the Schuhhaus Hasler-Prinz from 1978 until the year 2000, based in Mönchengladbach-Giesenkirchen. The company, led by Helmut and Irmgard Hasler, mainly led German brand manufacturers such as Salamander, Gabor, Rieker and Ricosta. The proportion of regular customers was at that time already very high, which was mainly due to the busy for many years, always friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Today Joachim Hasler runs the business. Under his leadership, the company expanded further, and 4 more branches were opened.
Another milestone in 2010 was the founding of the first Rieker internet shop www.rieker-shop.de. After a successful start, other internet shops such as www.schuhhaushasler.de followed in the following years; www.rieker-outlet.de and www.algemare.de
In order to do justice to the constantly growing internet trade, the new company headquarters in Korschenbroich will be built in 2015. Here is also the warehouse of the mail order company.
