After its training in the high mountains, the app decided a new kit was in order. Thus, we've updated the app's UI! Check out the new Activity tab where you'll find in-depth post-ride power analysis and interval-based summary stats showcasing your progress.
In addition, we fixed these bugs:
- Korean language ANGi bug fixed
- Bike image bug fix
- Ride recovery fix
We heard your feedback and sent the app out for some training in the high mountains of Colorado. It came back much stronger and no longer has the following issues:
• Tapping Save or Discard will now always work
• Ride start and end emails will now be sent more promptly
• Average speed should now always be displayed mid-ride
The record tab UI has been updated, and you can now label your completed rides with the type “e-bike.” This will propagate to Strava if that account is connected.
Emergency contact’s phone numbers will now be validated. If the phone number you’ve added to an emergency contact cannot receive SMS, you will be notified.
We’ve updated our ride recording library with the aim to further increase accuracy. If you’re still experiencing recording issues, ensure the Ride App isn’t being optimized for battery saving.
Your ANGi list will now persist between phones and logins. Meaning, if you get a new phone, you won’t have to re-pair your ANGi.
You can only ride the trainer for so long... Here's what else we've been working on during lockdown:
- We've updated our ride recording library; ride recording should be much more accurate.
- Your rides should now also upload more reliably; look for a notification indicating upload status.
- Track usage stats for any of your bikes. Simply select that bike before or after your ride and watch the miles stack!
The future is here and we can't wait to share it with you. Just remember that you saw it on the Ride App first...
We gave the app a burrito, pumped up its tires, slapped on some fresh chain lube, and sent it on its way.
Oh, we also fixed an issue for users who were attempting to create an account with an email address that is already associated with an account. These users will now be prompted to sign in.
You can now use the Ride App with "Dark Theme." ?
And you can analyze a ride you've completed within the app. By tapping on a completed ride card, you will be able to view your route in greater detail and see statistics like heart rate, power, or cadence data if you record with your Wahoo.
We've completely revamped our Account Creation and login flows.
Find and join Zwift rides hosted by Specialized athletes in the revamped Rides list.
As part of this Rides list makeover, group rides now include planned routes. You can add a route when creating a ride and see routes on other rides you've joined. To create a route and associate it with a ride, build the route on ride.specialized.com and it will show up in the list of routes on step 3 of the create a ride process in the app.
We fixed a bug with user unit preferences.
· Record with Wahoo and stay protected with ANGi, without taking out your phone*
· Receive all pertinent ANGi-related notifications directly on the Wahoo (like disconnects)
· Ability to cancel impacts on the Wahoo
· Rides are recorded on the Wahoo only
Using ANGi just got a whole lot easier! The Ride App now integrates with Wahoo ELEMNT GPS bike computers.
This means you can now enable ANGi from your Wahoo when both devices are connected to the Ride App. No need to pull out your phone.
Just get on your bike, hit start on your Wahoo, shake your ANGi to wake it up, and ride off knowing ANGi's got your back.
ANGi can be enabled before or after you’ve started the ride.
*You will now be notified when your completed ride is ready to view.
For this release, we lubed the app's chain, pumped up its tires, and sent it back on its way with a few gels and bars.
Accidentally closed the app mid ride? You now have the option to resume, save, or discard the next time you open the record tab.
And, for those of you who ride outside of cell service, check out the Ride Time Alert feature (found in the Ride Settings menu). Once you've set an alert time, you’ll now see a countdown timer while you're recording so you can keep track of how much time is left before an alarm is sent to your emergency contact.
This release includes the following updates:
- Ride recording has been generally improved, especially in poor GPS scenarios
- Android 10 fixes
- Profile images! Add your profile image to ride.specialized.com and it will show up in the app
- Live tracking will now store your location even if you were offline and update the live tracking map once online
- Bike serial numbers now displayed on Gear tab
- Ride time alerts are displayed as on/off in the record tab
Summer may be winding down here in the Northern Hemisphere but our code is just starting to heat up. Here are the major changes for this version:
- Every Specialized bike you've registered will now show in your list of bikes in app
- ANGi will now display a low-battery warning that will persist until you replace the battery
Based on your feedback, we've made some changes to auto-paused rides. Now, when you're auto-paused, the "resume" | "end ride" buttons will not split out until you tap "Stop Ride."
Additionally, if you try to register a bike and the Specialized servers are down (sorry...) we now handle this situation in the app.
This release includes a new group ride type: Community Rides. Create these for rides where there's no set ride leader. You won't receive notifications if someone joins, nor will you be automatically joined as an attendee of the ride.

SAFETY FOR ALL: THESE HELMETS CALL FOR HELP
We’re excited to announce that the ANGi sensor is now compatible with most cycling helmets, regardless of brand. Now, you can transform your helmet into a live tracking device, crash detector, and safety beacon.
In addition, we removed the annual subscription fee to activate ANGi. We’ve listened to your feedback and agree that no one should pay a premium for safety. Just connect to the Ride App, activate the sensor, and you’re ready to ride!
More metrics, better tracking, enhanced compatibility:
You’ll see elevation gain and average speed during and after the ride
We’ve reduced GPS drift for more accurate ride recording
Rides completed offline can now be synced to Strava (once you’re back online)
You can now export .fit files of completed rides so you can upload to any other platform
Sometimes you flat and other times you just want to stop for coffee. We get it, stopping is part of riding. You can now pause and resume your rides.
We’ve also improved the Strava upload functionality and taken care of a couple of bugs.

Record, save, and view ride results in your profile, plus view maps, metrics, and your ANGi status. Your ride history is only visible to you, but you can link your Ride account to STRAVA®, so you’ll never miss a segment.
