Hi-res forecast for Central Europe
Welcome ICON-D2 - a regional model with very high spatial resolution - 2.2 km step! It covers Germany, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic and the Netherlands! It’s updated 8 times a day and gives a 48-hour forecast. Great for adjusting plans for “today” and “tomorrow”!
Improved recommended kite size & more
A more accurate kite size recommendation is now available in the KITE profile. We've tweaked the formula so that it accounts for air density better. Rider's weight also makes a difference, so make sure to set it up correctly in the Settings -> Units.
You may find other specialized parameters in the spot forecast: recommended windsurf size, solunar and UV index.

- We've updated the Offline mode. It pre-loads forecasts for your favorite spots and a selected area on the map. Turn it on in the main menu!

We have improved and developed the screen with spot info! Look through photos of the area and the weather archive to plan your trip, and read visitors’ reviews or chat with locals to get first-hand information.

Welcome the Deviation index, an improved version of the Trust index. It shows the spread between wind forecasts from all weather models available on the spot. If it's narrow, you can trust the wind forecast. If it's large, use it with caution. The deviation can be found on the SAIL and custom profile.
We also have bad news: this is the last update of Windy.app for Android versions older than 4.4. because Google doesn't support Google Play Services on older versions.

Big Release for the US
Nautical Charts: new reality
Dreams come true: established nautical NOAA charts and the most accurate weather forecast at the same app. Switch it on right on the map or in the map settings. It updates automatically along with NOAA updates. All you need is zoom in: you can see coming depressions, waves data or navigational details based on scale.
Our new feature — Skew-t Log P Diagram!
Predict flight conditions with our new Skew-t Log P Diagram feature. It is at the beta testing stage and is available for free now.
We added a fish activity prognosis!
It takes into account 50+ local parameters and helps to choose the best time and place for a rich catch. Have a good fishing!
In this update we have worked on important details that are not so noticeable, but will make the use of Windy.app smoother.

This index is calculated based on the ECMWF Ensemble (EC-ENS) and you can find it in our new EXPERT profile. By the way, here you can check our new Ensemble graphs for temperature and pressure.

The waves forecast's depth is 10 days now, it updates daily around 15:00UTC in our app.
It has a great grid resolution of 1/12 degree (roughly 8km).

Now you can evaluate the reliability of the ECMWF. MIN and MAX show the likely range of the forecast change over time. Based on the ECMWF Ensemble.

Welcome a new US weather model in our family - HRRR NOAA model with real-time 3km resolution, radar assimilation and hourly updated.
Wind on different heights
We have updated the AIR profile: there's now wind speed and direction from ICON GLOBAL at 6 new levels (from 110m to 1950m).
CAPE index
An indicator of atmospheric instability, which can lead to showers, thunderstorms and squalls. You can now add it to your custom profile or switch to SAIL or AIR

Precipitation is the most unpredictable thing. We’ve improved precipitation on the map — now you can predict rain probability easier.

Accurate currents
Great news on currents! We've added an 8km global MyOcean model. Currents are more accurate now and take tides into account. Sea temperature is now a 0.5 meter depth average.
Offline mode
No Internet is no big deal: check our offline mode. Choose the necessary region, download the forecast and be aware of the weather on your favorite spots even offline.

We added a button on the spot page and on the wind map to download offline forecast. Now you can download forecast for any spot or map region and use it everywhere around the globe!
Sea currents
We’ve created a special profile for yachting enthusiasts. The profile includes a sea currents forecast. Just open any spot and tap SAIL.
The forecast shows the direction and speed of currents for 5 days ahead, for every hour or 3 hours (depends on your choice).
