The work was made from the translation of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek and was published in Basel, Switzerland, on September 28, 1569.1 2 His translator was Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish religious converted to Protestantism.2 He received the nickname of Reina-Valera for having made Cipriano de Valera the first revision of it in 1602.2
